Digital & Connected Information Society
“Whereas digital technologies are changing every economic sector, the strategy of the “Digital & Connected Information society” area of interest is targeting technologies associated with connected sensors, data transmission, big data analysis and all the innovations associated with complex modeling and their virtual representation. Some applications involve the whole processing chain, such as the “D6DSLAM” project that can capture the 3D environment in a closed space. This example led to a license and the creation of a start-up, “Pixmap”.”
RegTex 2 Maths to put cancer in equations
What is it? An automatic calculation method for medical image classification and detection of abnormalities and suspicious forms on these images, at an early stage.
For which field of application? Personalized medicine in oncology.
Who invented it? Institut de Mathématiques de Marseille (I2M UMR 7373)
Who participated? Aix-Marseille Université, CNRS
Maturation status: Validation on clinical study results
IDEA: Laboratoire d’Informatique Fondamentale de Marseille (LIF, Aix-Marseille Université, CNRS, UMR 7279)
Technology for analyzing and extracting reversal of trends in OLAP (“On-line Analytical Processing”) cubes from massive multi-dimensional data. It is particularly useful for decision-makers as it allows them to quickly identify the causes of an observed variation of an indicator. The aim of this maturation is to industrialize the software platform in the field of data processing, particularly into a manufacturing process.
TVB-Epilepsy: Institut de Neurosciences des Systèmes (INS26, UMR 1106)
The technology associated with this project is a decision-support medical device that can improve care of patients suffering from pharmacoresistant epilepsy. This device will allow pre-surgical explorations in order to be pinpoint accurate and minimally invasive when proposing individualized therapeutic solutions, by creating a virtual brain. The aim of maturation is to consolidate the preliminary results on a representative number of patients; secondly, it will involve validating the technology via a clinical trial.
VODKA sensor project: Institut des Sciences du Mouvement (ISM, Aix-Marseille Université, CNRS, UMR 7287)
Bio-inspired sensors with optical hyperacuity particularly well suited to restricted environments in terms of speed of execution, computational resources, consumption and dimensions. They are ideal when accurate servo-controlled positioning is required, especially in robots, in addition to GPS or an inertial navigation system (INS). The aim of the maturation project is to make a life-size prototype and test it by embedding it on commercially-available robots or drones.
MIMO indoor detection: Centre de Physique Théorique (CPT, Aix-Marseille Université, Université de Toulon, CNRS, UMR 7332)
The invention allows to detect and locate people or things inside enclosed or semi enclosed spaces by MIMO (“Multiple Input Multiple Output”) antenna systems. The maturation addresses the minimal functional requirements to access the presence detection market and open up new fields brought by this technology.
Smart board: Institut des Sciences du Mouvement (ISM, Aix-Marseille Université, CNRS, UMR 7287)
Connected instrumented hangboard for climbing practice. Smart board can draw up the climbers’ physiological profile (force, endurance, resistance…) using hanging and traction exercises in order to improve, share and compare their performance. The aim of the maturation is to bring the technology to an industrial scale by miniaturizing it and cutting the manufacturing costs.
Skinan: Laboratoire des Sciences de l’Information et des Systèmes (LSIS, Aix-Marseille Université, Université de Toulon, CNRS, UMR 7296)
Skinan technology analyzes digital images of nevus with the aim to help doctors for the early diagnosis of melanoma. Maturation has allowed us to develop a solution based on a machine learning-based approach and on an image database that both have been subject of an exclusive license to the ANAPIX Medical start-up. Development of this solution will therefore help minimize the risks and speed up market penetration.
