UV boosting plant defenses: UMR Qualisud (Université d’Avignon et des Pays de Vaucluse)
The technology developed by the Quality Physiology team at the Université d’Avignon (UMR QualiSud) with the support of the Institut d’Électronique du Sud (UMR 5214) at the Université de Montpellier, focuses on the development of a physical method for stimulating plant defenses based on the use of UV flashes with specific wavelength and power. This invention has been developed from a strong background of research into alternatives to pesticides in order to reduce risks to human health and protect the environment, a major societal and environmental issue.
Calix-BIB: Institut des Sciences Moléculaires de Marseille (ISM2, Aix-Marseille Université, École Centrale Marseille, CNRS, UMR 7313)
New class of molecules called Calix-BIB (protected by a patent application from Aix-Marseille Université, CNRS) particularly suited to selectively capture iodine in the radioactive decay tanks used in nuclear medicine centers. The maturation program focuses mainly on preparation, development and validation of anion capture devices for the nuclear waste management sector.
