Bacteria-based platform for engineering and functionalizing entities


PROBLEM ADDRESSED

Modern biotechnology tools, particularly in the field of microbial genetics, new enzymes, proteins and genes are in high demand for various industries.
Cost efficient and performant solutions for transmission of desired characteristics through protein engineering in vivo represent a real challenge.

TECHNOLOGY

A new functionalization system of the bacterial surface based on the combinative use of:

  • Engineered bacterial multienzymatic complexes and
  • Novel cell surface exposure method.

The system makes it possible to expose several proteins or enzymes of interest, not naturally present in the same bacterium on the surface of the bacterium. A particular structure composed of specific pairs of interacting domains (KD around 10-10 M) make it possible.
